I started making jewellery in 2014 after many years of collecting different pieces and was drawn to necklaces in particular. Making my own jewellery was a way to indulge my hobby and satisfy a longing to be creative.
I was fortunate enough to spend my early life in the West Indies and this is where my love of colour and pattern began, inspired by the landscape, the blues and greens of the ocean and the mountains. You will notice my love for turquoise, aqua and sea greens!
I find inspiration everywhere and enjoy blending all styles from boho to the elegance of the 20’s and 30’s. I love ethnic and vintage items and have used them in my designs to create original and individual pieces. There are imperfections, and variations in colour and tone, but I believe this adds to the charm of an original piece. I regularly visit antiques fairs, craft markets and junk shops looking for unusual pieces that I can incorporate into a design. In addition I have a few special suppliers in India and Turkey that always have treasures to tempt me, and hopefully, at the end of the design process will also tempt you, my customers.
Jack of SuzieandJack refers to my gorgeous Jack Russell cross who is my constant companion while I am working and is often to be found lying on my feet under my desk!
My intention is to design and make jewellery that reflects my passion and that you will enjoy wearing.
